Course Overview
The BA Communication program at UST Angelicum College provides students with a strong foundation in Quad-Media: Television, Radio, Print, and the Internet. Through excellent training and immersive experiences, the program molds young minds to become responsible, value-driven, and competent communication professionals prepared to thrive in diverse media industries.
Students gain a clear understanding of the ethical responsibilities involved in the use of print, radio, television, film, and new media. They are trained to be proficient in media writing and production for radio, television, film, and other audio-visual presentations that equip them to meet the ever-changing needs of business, industry, and society.
With a balance of theory, practice, and values formation, the program develops graduates who are not only skilled communicators but also leaders who use media to inspire, inform, and innovate.

| Communication Theory | Theories, principles, and concepts in communication; issues and perspectives in the study of communication. |
| Broadcasting Principles and Practices | Principles and practices in the use and operation of radio and television as broadcast media, including basic skills in writing for broadcast. |
| Media Writing | Introduces writing for the mass media, including: (1) news and feature stories for print and broadcast; (2) advertising and public relations copy; and (3) screenwriting. |
| Digital Imaging | Principles, programs, and techniques in improving photos, managing colors and typography, and creating new images and designs for print, web, and digital publications. |
| Communication, Culture, and Society | Existing and emerging global and national communication media landscape; the role of communication and culture in society with emphasis on issues in the Philippine setting, including the rights and responsibilities of communicators. |
| Radio & TV Production | Introduction to electronic media focusing on their development, function, and artistry, including studio practices, procedures, and demonstration as related to radio and television. |
| Audio-Video Post-Production | Explores the technology, creative application, and requirements for producing audio soundtracks and video for film and video projects. |
| Communication Research | The communication research process: principles, methods, and techniques in the conceptualization, design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and utilization of communication studies. |
| Communication Media Laws & Ethics | Principles underlying freedom of expression, information, and of the press; statutes dealing with communication media and their operations; and case studies, issues, and problems on regulatory and self-regulatory mechanisms, including professional codes of ethics. |
| Advertising Principles & Practices | The role of advertising in a free-market economy and commercial media system; theories on persuasion and advertising; and practical advertising principles and practices integrated in an advertising campaign plan. |
| Introduction to Film | History and principles of film; film as art, as a medium of communication, and as popular culture; and the language and grammar of film. |
| Multimedia Systems | Introduction to multimedia systems, digital video compression techniques, operating system support for digital audio and video, and network and transport protocols for multimedia. |
| Risk, Disaster & Humanitarian Communication | The process of communicating effectively with vulnerable stakeholders before, during, and after the onset of risk situations, and familiarizing students with communication strategies used in humanitarian aid operations that protect people and property in times of disasters or emergencies. |

| Introduction to Theater | Fundamentals of the art of drama onstage, with emphasis on acting, directing, and production design. |

| Knowledge Management | Principles, processes, and strategies of identifying, capturing, analyzing, storing, and sharing knowledge within an organization, facilitated using ICT. |
| Communication Planning | Principles and strategies to develop an evidence-based, results-oriented communication campaign plan—covering the planning process, elements of a communication plan, and measuring effects and impacts across public information and education, advocacy, social mobilization, and similar programs. |
